The new owners of this property contacted us to see if there was anything we could do with their quarry tiled floor. They really liked the character of the old quarry tiles but no matter what they tried, they couldn't remove the ingrained dirt.
After a phone call, we arranged a time for me to come and take a closer look. I surveyed the floor, conducted a test patch to work out the best method to restore the floor and sent over a quote which was accepted. A date was then arranged to come back to complete the works
On the day of the clean, the cleaning solution was applied to the floor and left to work into the ingrained dirt while i scraped away bits of paint & plaster. I then used a rotary machine to agitate the dirt before collecting with a wet vac. After a final rinse with clean water, the quarry tiles were left to dry out overnight, ready for sealing the next day.
The following morning, the floor was tested with a damp meter to ensure the tiles had dried out
sufficiently. The floor was then sealed with 1 coat of and impregnator seal to fill the pores of the
tiles and then finished with a couple of coats of a satin wax. The wax enhanced the colour of the
tiles, leaving a nice sheen. The wax will also make the Quarry tiles much easier to maintain
