Usually fitted in visible, heavy traffic areas, natural stone floors offer a truly unique look with their varying colours and patterns. Being a natural product though, they can lose their beautiful appearance over time and are prone to scratches & scuffs if not properly maintained.
One of the main issues we come across is ‘etching’. This is caused when something acidic (red wine, citrus drinks, household cleaners etc…) drops on to natural stone and starts to dissolve the surface leaving a white dull spots.

Our diamond grinding polishing restoration system will remove scratches, scuffs and etching, bringing your beautiful flooring back to life, making it a striking focal point of your home.

Our Natural Stone Floor Polishing & Restoration Process

Our advanced wet grinding and polishing system means are process is 99% dust free

As every floor is different, there will be slight variations in the process we use to restore your natural stone floor, but below is a guide of what we would typically do.

    Step 1:
After initial contact, we arrange a quote visit to assess the floor and discuss the options available

    Step 2:
After a quote is sent and accepted, we arrange a date/dates to undertake the work
Furniture will need to be removed if pre-arranged / discussed at the quote visit

    Step 3:
The stone floor honing and polishing process begins with masking of surrounding areas with plastic tape to ensure that furniture and fittings are not damaged by slurry or equipment during the restoration process.

    Step 4:
If the floor is heavily soiled, we will give the floor a thorough clean before beginning the stone grinding.

    Step 5:
Diamond Grinding: Stone that is etched, scuffed, and/or scratched can only be properly restored by the use of mechanical diamond abrasives underneath professional machinery.
Used with water to contain dust, the diamond abrasives resurface the stone, removing a very thin layer to achieve a blemish free surface.
This process usually leaves the stone with a raw matt look - the resurfacing procedures that follows will determine the desired surface sheen

    Step 6:
Honing: The stone is mechanically resurfaced using diamond abrasives and water to achieve a uniformly honed surface sheen.
    (If you have a floor

    Step 7:
Polishing: The stone is mechanically finished to produce a high gloss shine.

    Step 8:
Powder polishing: If a even higher sheen is desired, we can finish the stone floor with a polishing powder to achieve the highest of gloss finishes

    Step 9:
Sealing: This will be the last step in the stone polishing & restoration process and we will use a heavy duty professional grade sealer to protect your stones.

    Step 10:
We will give you advice on how to maintain your stone floor to keep it looking in great condition.

We also offer maintenance packages to keep your floors looking elegant & luxurious for years to come!
